Hear from our volunteers...

Landon C.

"When I first started volunteering at Ability Tree it was because I wanted to find something good to do in my community. But as the time went on, it was the kids. Seeing how happy the kids were to see me whenever I came in every single day, running towards me and yelling my name, it made me so happy to know that I was these kids' friend, and that they looked forward to seeing me. I love volunteering at Ability Tree because of the happiness that I see on the kids faces whenever I go in every day."

Lex P.

"My favorite part of volunteering at Ability Tree is getting to hangout with all the kids and young adults while also helping them grow and get closer to the Lord. I love seeing how the Lord works through all of them!"

VOLUNTEER FAQ

How old do I need to be?

You must be 14 and at least in 9th grade to volunteer.  We do allow 12-13 year olds to volunteer with a parent or guardian accompanying them.

Do you provide training?

Yes! We provide a 60-90 minute volunteer training that is mandatory to attend before volunteering. This training will help equip you to work with our MVPs and CU students, give you more information about Ability Tree, and go over our policies and procedures.

When do you need volunteers?

Our most needed times for volunteers are during our After School program (M-Th 3:15-5:45pm) and Parent's Night Out (Fri 5:00-8:45pm). In addition, our Connections University program (M-F 9:00am-3:00pm) has volunteer opportunities at our R.E.S.T. Center, JBU campus, and in our community. We also have volunteer opportunities to help with various other programs, administrative work, and maintenance.

Can my small group, youth group, school club, etc. volunteer together?

Yes! We love having volunteer groups, especially for Parent's Night Out. If your group is interested in volunteering, email arvolunteer@abilitytree.org.
